Prague, 7 July 2022: The elegant city of Prague has welcomed its first luxury lifestyle hotel with the recent grand opening of Andaz Prague, a five-star property décored with artistic fusion of mythic history and modern trends situated in Senovážné Square.
Taking over the building of the former Sugar Palace, Andaz Prague offers a magnificent view in its façade and interiors. A treat for all senses, the property’s unique design created by Brime Robbins of Madrid Design Studio illuminates Czech’s history, myths, and legends with artworks and rich craftmanship heritage of the country.
The first hotel of the American hotel chain Hyatt in the Czech Republic and the fifth hotel of the Andaz brand in Europe, Andaz Prague is not settling for less with its exquisite array of 152 rooms, 24 suites, and 5 event spaces. “Prague is a charming European city and I’m excited that it is here where Andaz Prague introduces its unique concept combining luxury with lifestyle. I believe the hotel will enchant travelers from all over the world, letting them know better the local culture and this beautiful city,” Doris Hecht, General Manager of Andaz Prague said.
Apart from the elegantly appointed rooms, suites, and events place, the property also houses the exclusive restaurant ZEM and the MEZ bar. Experience an avant-garde Czech bistronomy at the ZEM and relish perfected menu by Executive Chef Eric Pellen and Chef de Cuisine Richard Bielik. A sophisticated place with laid back ambiance, MEZ offers a selection of well-blended cocktails and perfected coffee drinks by its lead mixologist Daniel Prokeš.
The Andaz Prague experience will not be complete without a relaxing retreat at Klara Rott The Spa. Rejuvenate and lift off all bodily stress with face and body treatments using extra pure and effective Czech bio cosmetic Klara Rott and be pampered in a tranquil environment.
Located in a prime spot with an interesting history and just next to Jindřišská Tower, the former Sugar Palace has been renovated by UBM Development to build the Andaz Prague property under its brand. “Storytelling is an important success factor for all our real estate projects. With the “Kingdom of Bohemian” we created an additional asset for our future guests which is perfectly in line with the history of Prague,” Thomas G. Winkler, CEO of UBM Development said.
“We were honored to renovate and change face of this charming historic building. The building is a cultural monument and our designers worked with great delicacy there. We closely cooperated with the representatives of the care of historical monuments and did not miss even the smallest details. We conserved for instance the original windows, doors, stucco decoration or fireplaces. During the reconstruction, we fully accomplished UBM’s motto “green, smart, and more” with the emphasis on environmental and sustainability elements. We are pleased that with the reconstruction of the Sugar Palace we helped to refresh not only the building itself but also the Senovážné square. We believe that this new design becomes more than a value for the tourists, and it will enrich the image of Prague,” Josef Wiedermann, Managing Director of EBM Czechia concluded.
