DUBAI, 9 January 2022 – His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Sports Council on Sunday crowned the winners of the Elite Cycling Race for men, which covered 150 km from Hatta to Expo 2020 Dubai and was held as part of the Al Salam Cycling Championship.
Expo 2020’s Dubai Millennium Amphitheatre hosted the coronation ceremony for the 200-plus participants, representing 37 different nationalities and 21 teams between them.
Commemorative photographs of HH Sheikh Mansoor were taken with the winners on the main stage of the Amphitheatre in a ceremony attended by Her Excellency Reem Al Hashimy, UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation and Director General, Expo 2020 Dubai.
Heinrich Haussler of Shabab Al-Ahli cycling team won first place, having finished the race in three hours, 21 minutes and 29 seconds, while Alexandr Pliuschin of Abu Dhabi Cycling Club finished second with a time of three hours, 22 minutes and 19 seconds.
In third place came Whoosh Team rider Jaber Al Mansoori, just 25 seconds from second place. The race formed part of the sixth edition of the Al Salam Cycling Championship.
