Dubai Customs’ “Sufrat Al Jamark” to bring happiness to senior citizens
As part of their CSR commitments, Dubai Customs launched “Sufrat Al Jamarik (Customs Feast)” initiative in cooperation with the Community Development Authority to bring joy and happiness to senior citizens, and share Iftar meals and time with them. CSR section at Corporate Communication Department and Ghayath Volunteer team distributed 40 Iftar meals while taking all precautionary measures.
Sufrat Al Jamarik is one of eight initiatives that Dubai Customs launched during the Holy Month of Ramadan to show solidarity and give back to the community.
“Social work is part of our sustainable strategies and we promote it through different initiatives and campaigns,” said Khalil Saqer bin Gharib, Director of Corporate Communication Department. “Our initiatives aim at strengthening ties between community members and spreading a culture of giving and benevolence especially among the elders following the wise directives of our leadership.”
On her part, Khulood Abdulla Al Sharaf, Director of Marketing and Corporate Communication Department in Community Development Authority praised Dubai Customs charity initiatives that contribute towards more solidarity and social cohesion.
“This warm activity pleases the elder citizens who live on their own, and makes them feel they are valuable in our society. Our Waleef program helps serve senior citizens and guarantee their continued integration in society.”
