Noon Daily announces Ramadan UAE Food Bank initiative to support communities in need
Noon’s grocery platform has created Ramadan Donation Bundles to allow customers to donate directly to food banks during the Holy month
Dubai, UAE. 18th April, 2021: noon Daily, noon.com’s dedicated grocery platform, is partnering with the UAE Food Bank, allowing shoppers to donate bundles of food to the charity to be distributed amongst communities who need help most. Running until 12th May across the United Arab Emirates, the collaborative initiative aims to support those in need throughout the month of Ramadan.
As the first Food Bank in the country, the charity collaborates with local authorities as well as local and international charities with a primary mission to efficiently store, package and distribute excess food from hotels, restaurants and supermarkets. Until 12th May, customers shopping on noon Daily can easily contribute to the cause through the noon app by tapping the ‘noon Daily’ toggle then choosing from thoughtfully curated Ramadan Donation Bundles, created for distribution to communities in need.
The Ramadan Donation Bundle bundle options, distributed under customers’ names, range from 9 items at 30 AED, 13 items at 49 AED, 16 items at 69 AED, and 28 items at 119 AED. Each have a mix of dry food items, and household products. To help streamline the donation process, bundles purchased by customers on noon Daily, alongside their regular groceries order, will be auto-tagged at checkout, ensuring that each donation is sent directly to the UAE Food Bank in the name of the customer who has donated.
Kaushik Mukherjee, SVP Customer Experience & Seller Operations, noon, said of the initiative: “We’re proud to work with the UAE Food Bank to help our customers and team more easily contribute to people in need. noon Daily will pack and ship Ramadan donation bundles purchased by customers and our own employees to the UAE Food Bank throughout the Holy month. Thousands of families and frontline workers across the country will benefit from the food parcels distributed by the charity, and we couldn’t be happier to provide a service that helps bridge the donation process between customers and community.”
Launched under the umbrella of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) in 2017, the UAE Food Bank, a first of its kind initiative in the region, is partnering with noon Daily to enable customers across the country to extend their community support by donating allocated bundles of food to charities and frontline workers throughout the United Arab Emirates. In light of the Ramadan period, the initiative serves as a reminder to the importance of communities joining together and playing a role towards bettering the lives of others through charitable contributions.
Created to give both people and businesses in the region a local champion and shoulder to lean on, noon’s dedication towards creating meaningful experiences to help uplift and empower communities lies at the heart of the digital marketplace. By providing customers with access to initiatives like UAE Food Bank, noon Daily’s purpose is to inspire, engage, and support local communities in extending kindness to others both throughout the month of Ramadan and beyond.
