- Each winner took home AED 166,667
Six lucky winners walked away with AED 166,667 each in the 20th live weekly Mahzooz draw. All six participants matched five out of six numbers to split the AED 1,000,000 second prize. The winners are all Indian with five of them coming from the Kerala region.
For Robert, this win was a great way to start his Mahzooz experience.
“This was my first time participating in the draw. A few of my colleagues play so I decided to give it a try as well,” recalled the 69-year-old UAE resident. “I was under quarantine so I found out I won when my colleague called. It was a great moment for me.”
Originally from Kerala, Robert has spent over 40 years living in the UAE. He is married and has two daughters, one in Abu Dhabi and one currently in the USA. When asked about his winnings, Robert’s thoughts go immediately to his family.
“My daughter is getting married soon so I will gift her the money,” said Robert. “For me the money is good, but for her it will be great.”
As for Mahzooz itself, Robert has a simple message.
“To anyone considering participating, just do it and don’t wait. You never know when your lucky day will come,” concluded Robert. “I’m very thankful to Mahzooz.”
35-year-old Muhamed also hails from Kerala but has spent the past 12 years living in the Middle East working in the insurance industry. The married, father of three said: “I received an email from Mahzooz and saw that I had won,” said Muhamed. “I was very happy and quite surprised. These winnings will go a long way for me as I can now pay off some debts and invest into my children’s future.”
Among the six winners, Ibrahim Abdul is the only non-Keralite. The 34-year-old IT professional lives in Umm al Quwain with his family.
“This win will be life-changing for me over the next few months,” said Ibrahim. “When I saw that I won, I knew that this wonderful prize will go a long way towards covering day-to-day expenses for my family.”
