KEF OIL & GAS | Disrupting Since Day One
KEF Holdings’ incredible journey began in 1995 with Al Ahmadi General Trading, a scrap metal trading business in Ajman, UAE. From there, Founder Faizal E. Kottikollon saw immense opportunities for growth.
In 1997, he opened Emirates Techno Casting (ETC), a world-class foundry and campus in Sharjah, UAE. From day one, ETC was built to be different. It was the first foundry in the UAE to implement manufacturing integration and was one of only two foundries in the world to include a Vacuum Oxygen Argon Degassing Furnace. By 2007, the fully integrated facility was rated amongst the top three technologically advanced foundries in the world.
In line with its commitment to employee development and social improvement, KEF Holdings invested $5 million into a state-of-the-art community centre on the ETC campus, to cater to all employees’ physical, mental and wellness needs, while providing opportunities for personal and educational development. ETC was acquired by Tyco for $400 million in 2012. Later, Randall Hogan, Chairman & CEO of Pentair, renamed the community centre The Shabana & Faizal Community Centre – a fitting tribute to the founders’ unwavering determination to make a difference.
