The Irish rider “Shane Breen”and the horse “Evita” had scored a huge and extraordinary win in the first competition of the five-star championship, sponsored by Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority – special two phases- at barriers of height (145) cm. 41 male and female riders had participated and 11 of them succeeded in completing the two phases without faults.With time difference, the first place went for the Irish rider Breen who had completed the 2nd round at a time of (24.88) seconds, whereas the second place was for “David Will” and the horse “Darius” after completing the second round in a time of (26.20) seconds, and the 3rd place went for “Holger Wulschner” and the horse “Casirus” at a time of (29.07) seconds.
The brilliant Egyptian rider, “Abdel Qader Said”, with the horse “Arpege Du Ru” was the first qualifier to enter the competition of the LONGINES Grand Prix (five stars), which includes the final round of the Arab World Cup qualifying competitions in Las Vegas. The competition was of the one round with barriers of height at 150 cm, where 73 male and femaleriders had participated in it, 28 without faults. With Time difference, the 1st place was scored by “Abdel Qader Said” who completed the round with time of (56.06) seconds, who also gave the participants a hard time in breaking his time record. The 2nd place was for the German rider“ChristianAhlmann” and horse “Solid Gold Z”who completed the round in a time of (57.77) seconds,whereas the 3rd place went forthe Irish rider“Jack Ryan” with the horse “Essenar HighHopes” who recorded a time of (58.09) seconds.
Moreover, the outer field had witnessed the round of points Accumulator with Joker of the two-star category, sponsored by the Sharjah Sport Council. The path was arranged with 10 barriers of height at (125) cm, except for the Joker barrier at height of (135 cm) and at double points (20 points). 73 riders had participated,16 of them had collected full points (65 points), and the first place award was scored by the Syrian Rider“Laith Ali” with the horse “I’M Quite Bright”who collected all points in a time of (45.09) seconds. The 2nd place awardwas for the rider “NasouhKayali” with horse “Beluga” at atime of (46.32) seconds, and then the 3rd place for the Danish “Tina Lund” and the horse “PayseHeutiere” at a time of (46.48) seconds.
The activities of H.H Sharjah Ruler Cup International show Jumping Championship continued for the second day in a row in the covered hall at the Sharjah Equestrian Club, and during the morning period qualifying competitions were held for the FEI group VIIfinals– Children, young and juniors – as well as the young horses (6-7 years), where the results for each category were carried over to the closing competition on Friday (yesterday).
